Doug Hemphill talks about working on The Life of Pi and other films.

Doug Hemphill has been making movies sound sweet since he worked with Walter Merch as Mix Recordist on APOCALYPSE NOW. He won his first Best Sound Academy Award in 1993 for THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS, then in 2022 for DUNE: PART ONE. Back in 2013, Hemphill received a nomination for Best Achievement in Sound Mixing for THE LIFE OF PI. A few days before the 85th Academy Awards, he called me on the show to discuss working on THE LIFE OF PI and other films.
